Marty Renfro, Texas Contracting Operations Manager
Where are you from? If not from Texas, what made you want to come to Texas? If you're from here, why did you stay?
I’m originally from Cleveland, Mississippi, a small town in the Mississippi Delta where my family worked in farming. I moved to Texas with my mother in 1986 when I was 16 years old, and after nearly 40 years, I’m proud to call Texas home.
How long have you been in the HVAC/Manufactured Home industry? If not long, what were you doing before and how does that experience help you with your current role?
I began my career in 1992 in the commercial refrigeration industry in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, where I installed and serviced walk-in coolers and ice machines for restaurants, commercial facilities, and convenience stores. In 2005, after getting married, I transitioned to a role closer to home in Tyler, Texas, joining Atlantic Service and Supply. In 2012, I joined Style Crest and have spent the past 14 years growing within the company—from Service Technician to Operations Manager. My hands-on experience in the field has given me a strong understanding of the daily challenges our installers and technicians face, allowing me to better support my team and provide practical solutions.
What’s the best part of your job/what do you like most about your job?
The most rewarding part of my job is solving the behind-the-scenes challenges that keep operations running smoothly. I especially enjoy seeing our team—managers, installers, administrators, and technicians—come together to develop creative solutions and continuously strengthen our overall performance.
What is the most important part of your job/what you do at Style Crest?
The most important aspect of my role is being accessible and responsive. Whether it’s answering questions, addressing issues, or helping find solutions, being available to support my team helps ensure our operations continue to move forward efficiently.
What are you passionate about outside of work?
Outside of work, I’m passionate about wildlife conservation and enjoy spending quality time with my wife, children, and especially my two grandchildren.
Anything else you’d like to share?
In addition to my role at Style Crest, I operate a small ranch where I raise cattle, horses, and miniature donkeys. It’s a fulfilling way to stay connected to nature and enjoy time outdoors.
