Meet The Team: Jim Hunt

If you want to understand the manufactured housing industry in Oklahoma, there may be no better person to ask than Jim Hunt. A lifelong Tulsan with nearly five decades in the business, Jim has seen it all — and he’s still as engaged as ever. From his first day on the job in 1976 to his ongoing role with the Manufactured Housing Association of Oklahoma, Jim is about as seasoned as they come.

Where are you from?

I’m a lifelong Tulsan — born, raised, and proud of it. My roots in this community run deep, and I think that shows in the way I do business. People here know me, and I know them. That matters.

How long have you been in the HVAC/Manufactured Home industry?

I got my start in June of 1976 with the original Mobile Service and Supply. I stayed with the company through its transition to Durham Supply in 1980 and eventually into the Style Crest family in 2017. So we’re talking nearly 50 years in this industry — I’ve seen a tremendous amount of change over that time, and that perspective is something I try to bring to everything I do.

What’s the best part of your job?

It’s always been the face-to-face interaction with customers. Getting out in the field, listening to what people need, and making sure we’re truly taking care of them — that’s what gets me going. That’s never changed, no matter how many years go by.

What is the most important part of your role at Style Crest?

Making sure we have the best people in place to do the best job. As Branch Manager of the Tulsa branch, my job is to build and support a strong team — because when the team is right, everything else falls into place. I’ve been doing this long enough to know that the people are always the foundation.

What are you passionate about outside of work?

Golf — though I’d say it’s equal parts passion and frustration! I love getting out on the course with the two best friends I’ve had since my school days. And most importantly, I cherish the time I get to spend with my wife, Amy. Those are the things that matter most outside of work.

Anything else you’d like to share?

I’ve been serving as Treasurer of the Manufactured Housing Association of Oklahoma for the past five years, which has been a great way to stay connected to the broader industry. And I’ll say this — having been around as long as I have, I try to bring that old-school work ethic and local knowledge to everything I do. My customers have come to rely on it, and I take that trust seriously.
